Veydan Child Safety Standards
Rookbeam Technologies LLC (the “Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) prohibits the sexual exploitation of minors and child sexual abuse material in Veydan products and the Veydan services we operate.
1. Prohibited Conduct
You may not create, acquire, distribute, or unlawfully possess child sexual abuse material (CSAM), involve minors in sexual exploitation, engage in grooming or sexual extortion, coerce anyone into sexual activity or into creating such material, or facilitate any of these violations.
These prohibitions apply regardless of the type of chat, group, or community, the encryption method, or any NSFW label. Users, owners, and administrators must follow these rules and, when they identify a violation, take the measures available to them within their authority.
Labeling sensitive content does not permit child exploitation or replace mandatory age restrictions.
2. How to Report a Concern
The primary way to report a concern is through the Report feature in the app. You can also contact childsafety@veydan.net. To submit a report, provide the circumstances known to you, an identifier for the user, group, message, or object, and information about the suspected threat.
Do not send illegal images or videos through ordinary email or seek out and download them specifically to prepare a report. Do not share private keys or recovery phrases. If necessary, we will explain how information may be provided in compliance with the law and using the technical means available.
If a child is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services. Reporting a concern to Veydan is not a substitute for emergency assistance.
3. Review and Protective Measures
Authorized personnel prioritize reports of possible child exploitation. We review reports based on the information provided and other information lawfully available to us. A report alone does not establish that the person identified is responsible for a violation, but a threat may justify proportionate interim protective measures.
We may restrict access to the services we operate, remove objects under our control, preserve available materials, and take other actions required or permitted by law. Our capabilities are limited to our infrastructure and the information actually available to us. Independent operators are responsible for their own actions and legal obligations.
We do not have the keys needed to decrypt protected communications on our own and cannot read their contents on our servers. A participant may separately provide copies of messages as part of a report. Reviewing those copies does not give us keys or access to the rest of the conversation.
4. Legally Required Reporting, Preservation, and Confidentiality
When required by U.S. law, we submit information to the NCMEC CyberTipline and preserve related materials in accordance with 18 U.S.C. § 2258A. We fulfill applicable obligations when the legal conditions that trigger them are met and within the required time limits. We do not wait for an internal review to be completed if the law already requires a report.
Reviewing reports does not create an obligation to read or scan all protected communications. We fulfill our legal obligations with respect to information that has actually become available to us.
We do not publish materials from individual reviews, information about the child or the person who submitted the report, or details of our internal protective measures. We may withhold information about the progress of a review if disclosure would violate the rights of those involved or the law, or compromise protective measures. We still provide required notices, comply with lawful requests for information, and fulfill mandatory reporting obligations when applicable.
